Frederick Neuhouser is the Viola Manderfeld Professor of German and a Professor of Philosophy at Barnard College, Columbia University in New York. Neuhouser‘s research focus is on German Idealism and continental social theory. His current work is centered on ideas of social and spiritual pathology in Rousseau, Hegel, Marx, Nietzsche, Kierkegaard, Durkheim, Weber, Freud, and the Frankfurt School. His latest book is Diagnosing Social Pathology: Rousseau, Hegel, Marx, and Durkheim (Cambridge U. Press, 2023).
